I picked up new remotes for my truck.

I enter program mode, locks cycle.
Hit a button on the remote, locks cycle.
Turn key off, locks cycle.

Take key out and nothing! I've tried both replacement remotes and the factory one. Same problem with each.

Any ideas?!

Thanks.

I disconnected the negative battery cable. Left it off while I put new backgrounds on my dirt bike then hooked up it again. Remotes work.

Good to know! I've programmed a few of these for people, and never ran into that issue.

Yeah I didn't get it. It did everything properly then the remote wouldn't work. After much googling I came across the same problem on an exploder forum and the ground did the trick for him

It's not a "trick". You just unhook the battery ground for a few minutes to let the system reset itself.

Anyway, that isn't your problem. As I have already told you, it's eight (8) key cycles, not five. And keep your foot off the brake.
