I searched for this issue but came up empty handed. Is it possible for the printed circuit in the instrument cluster to have a "dead spot"? I replaced ALL of the backlights in the cluster and still have a big dark spot on the high-end of the speedometer. I'm going to double check the little twist in retainers again, but they seemed fine. Is there any way to swap out the printed circuit if it is indeed burned out?

The vehicle is an 89 BII XLT, btw. Thanks.

Do you have any spots that look corroded? Or broken?

Cause it's certainly possible. Circuit boards break all the time. At least often enough that you can by a silver paste to paint on that completes the circuit.
