This is my explorer

As it is currently




4.0l 5spd auto transfercase
Suposly 11inch lift
Sitting on 36x12.50x15 super swappers
All stock on the inside an under the hood
Rear end is a explorer 8.8 an front is a d35 ttb
Gears unknown
One bad spot on rear wheel well


Plans are to remove lift lower 1-2 inches
Place black 20 inch wheels under it wrapped with 305/55 rubber
Remove 4.ol motor place my beefed up high output 4.ol motor in it
Put 4.10 gears in it
Paint it a dark cobalt Blue
Redo the interior tent window
Use it as a dd an parts getter

Well the explorer was no good once I got home an started to tear into it frame was rusted an the hole rear of the vehicle was rusted an rotted out so I stripped the explorer an I'm now placing the lift in my ranger along either the 4.0l and the seats

For a DD street ride you will probably be better served with something along the lines of a 3.73 gearing. Also not sure about you lowering idea, that is about a 33" tall tire.

My 99 Ranger had the 4.0L auto, 4.10 gears, and 32x11.5 tires. It turns a little over 2500 rpm cruising at 70 on the interstate. If I didn't need the low end grunt I'd gladly go to a taller gear to drop the cruise RPM. As it stands I'm in the process of building a car hauler and thinking about getting a camper so that's not really an option.

The original plan was to remove the 36s an put low profile 20s on it. Also remove the lift kit. But your right it would have been better with 3.73 gears but I hall my quads a lot so I wanted the extra gearing on it

Picked up a new explorer the other day it's a 94 auto with auto hubs plans are the same lower it restore it leather/vinyl seats replace carpet and interior cloth replace rockers rock guard and fenders repaint black with 20 inch wheels

I've never seen this before looks cool though


Looks bad but it's really not that bad it's in a lot better shape then the last one plus their becoming harder and harder to find anymore
