Still no luck contacting them. I tried posting to their facebook page, but not sure if it will show up since I don't actually have a facebook account. I just have the TRS facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/Southingtonoffroad/

I'm trying to make sure we can use their offroad park September 7, 2019.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
i run wellsville a bit on the 250. not too good an idea being crippled up and old:D

got lost again. so i just went back out the powerline.

was supposed to meet up with some co workers and i pulled into what i thought was derricks truck but it was not his truck, simply was one just like it. hey it was right by the powerlines where i thought we were supposed to meet......

i left my truck in some random guys yard and rode through his property out to the powerline... figuring they were gathering up.. whoooopsie... derp derp derp...

that was an interesting conversation when i got back. they just thought it was broken down...:icon_rofl:

i can not find my garmin.. and i looked for it quite a bit since we were with ford at the auto show deal... just so i could map this place..so i will be buying a new setup. any ideas for an easy to use trail mapper? mine was/is a hard to use old school pos anyway.

wellsville is definitely bad ass. quite a bit of traffic out there....mostly four wheelers and sxs's

but wellsville is also definitely sketchy.

theres potential for sure.

currently, i have a place i rent over by bowerstown and riding the crazy shit local to our yard there. i was able to run with some suzuki sidekick guys a few trips (they were visiting from out of state) but once aep brought the kason crews out for the powerlines they kicked us out. those guys were natives to this area but did not do wellsville even when they lived here.....

its a tough call. once i get a new gps lined out i plan to go there with some locals. there is more legend and lore to that place then i cared to consider, i work with people that actually live there and no one knows anything for sure.....:shok: the guys that physically live in wellsville dont off road at all....which is crazy...but there are several others from outside of carrollton and scio and once we get on the same shift i will do some exploring and mapping..

i will likely have the bronco and my ranger for sure. maybe some other stuff by then.

if someone wants to do a beater build, depending on my work cycle, it should be cake and cheeap as long as i am still working in this area next year.

and odds are that will be the case.

though i plan on being closer to mechanics town if i am still here in the spring. so group build... find a truck and maybe do welded diffs and cut fenders with junkyard spring lift and craigslist tires and i can store it till ya fly in and wheel the wee out of it.

which is possible at my current residence...but i had someone offer me some land options over near mechanicstown which is closer to wellsville.

so thats better.

definitely plan on going.

I think Southington Offroad would be a great place to hold this because they have a bath house and pavilion.

I would be down for an outlaw run in Wellsville on Sunday if we could get in there without getting in trouble.

UPDATE: Looks like 09/07/2019 is going to be a confirmed day for Southington Offroad Park

awesome.

things i learned i need.

new radiator.....new locker...at least one... probably a winch because this poor fawker i have is in as bad a shape as i am.... and a bunch of frame repair. and floorboards and rockers behind seats... cab is getting bad.

i dont know what happened...i only have 100-120 hp...but i totalled my rear 60....broke the carrier and caps.... i think maybe the carrier bolts come loose or something...installed a used aussie not long before the failure so possibly that had something to do with it. or maybe i did something wrong when i put it in...

when is the next time your going out don? i work nights and dont have a schedule....never know when i have time off...

When you change the radiator it may be a good time to get pics of how you have it mounted. :icon_idea:

I updated the first post in this thread to show the location as Southington Offroad Park instead of Wellsville.

First I heard today that it was moved from Wellsville. That's great to hear. Wellsville was awesome in the past. More interested in being legit now.

If I don't ride a bike there and jump in with someone else I'll be in my stock FJ Cruiser. It has a 2" lift (coil spacers) and also has 1.25" wheel spacers and stock-sized mud tires...but otherwise stock. We took it to Attica and did pretty much everything in the quarry on the A-Trac and not locking the axle. And not spilling my coffee with my inexperienced 18-yo son driving.

My method for wheeling my B2 through it was to hammer it and see what parts were left at the top. Might be a fun weekend.
