Well.

Turns out that the way I had to install my engine trans combo, I still had to move the tranny crossmember and mount 6" forward.

Because of the way the frame is I couldn't move it that far so I fanned a mount plate out of 1/4" plate steel, bolted the mount to it and the trans then bolted the plate to the cross member. Then to ensure if something bad was to happen it would be really really bad, I welded the plate to the cross member as well.

Because of the leverage of the trans on the plate, it causes a little flex in the cross member rotating forward. Should I reinforce the plate?

Is there anything you can think I should have or didn't do?

I'll post pictures soon as I get this stupid iPhone working eight

I tried something similar on my first attempt at the M5OD swap and found it gave me a horrible vibration in 3rd gear from the plate flexing.

As for your picture posting, if you are waiting for an iPhone to work right to do that, I'll go and not hold my breath while I wait.

You need some type of gusset from plate to cross member. Easiest but not the prettiest would be a piece of box tubing on each side of the plate to cross member.

Could I hust run some 1 1/4 square steel 1/8" thick and bolt it? I have to be able to remove t so welding it won't work.

mine just has one bolt on the drivers side and two bolts on the passanger side. i dont see why you cant just slide it up to where you need it and drill new holes in the frame.

if you measure from the stock mount to 6" forward, the body mount is in the way. I tried moving it up, but I would have to cut and move the body mount as well. Also the bottom frame passenger side is flared out (down) so I would also have to cut it out...

imtrying to see if I can get some 1 1/4" tubing in there to support the bracket, but the gaps are big enough that its more like 1 1/2" maybe 1 5/8".

Would have been better to make the holes to move the cross member. That is going to vibrate and eventually tear loose.

I agree that would be best. However I can't move it that far because of te body mount.
