So I got this 2wd 1995 F150. Uncle bought this truck brand new 5.0l&4R70W automatic and gave it to me couple weeks ago. He was going to call the salvage yard to haul it away for scrap. It's got 116k on it and other then some rusty spots here and there its a solid truck. I picked it up and got ALL! the brake lines steel and rubbers replaced as well as the power steering lines. Runs like a top other then an exhaust leak at the drivers manifold flange.
So the plan for this project is get this SAS done and build a D.D./tow&plow rig out of it. Over the weekend Jeff's Bronco Graveyard had an open house with a truck show and swap meet. Went over there and picked and HP44 complete with steering linkage for $100. Also got a pair of stock radius arms with dual shock set up for $15.
If anyone out there has ever done one of these swaps I'd be grateful for any tip or pointers. Everything I've found about doing this is people building wheeling rigs with flexy suspensions. I want to try and keep this truck as low as possible for towing and hauling. Pictures to come tomorrow.
