Hey gents, just trying to gather some information for my V8 swap project.
I already have my engine, a 302 out of a Mercury Mountaineer I'm in the process of rebuilding, but I'm trying to get some info on which transmission would work the best IRT ease of installation, longevity etc. It currently has the stock automatic in it.

C4? C5? C6? AOD? And what all do I need in regards to Advance adapter kits to hook it up to my stock transfer case? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Take a look in the tech library, alot if info on this.

Most people just use the fullsize transfer case, like me. I'm running an np435 with np208 transfer case.

The section for swaps seems to be down, at least for me. Is it possible to keep the stock Tcase if I want to keep to swap in an automatic?

Keep the mounty trans, its the strongest trans build behind the 5.0, and it also has overdrive. You can get the advance adapter kit to bolt up the ranger case to the aod trans (the mounty is the 4R70W, which is basically an electronically controlled aod). If you need help with wiring, let me know...
