I am glad that Ford cares so much for my safety that they added an annoying "feature". Too bad I have to lean over and lock the door every time I park and pull out the key.

I understand that the "feature" may be turned off by de-programming the key. I dont mind the locking feature, only the unlocking.

I propose that by finding the relay that triggers the door locks, I may be able to add a couple(or rocker) switches on the drivers door.

Anyone familiar with tyhe relays that could lend some advise? Thanks

You can have the dealer turn off the auto lock door option.

My '06 has power locks with remote entry, but it doesn't have auto-locking doors...? :icon_confused: Weird. I'm really glad it doesn't have that though, I've driven cars that have it and it's super annoying!

No power door locks. No key fob (I hate those things).

What is happening is the doors lock automatically when the truck is started and then unlocking after the ignition is turned off.

Specifically, I want to add a rocker switch to the relay which controls the auto-locks.

if the doors are locking automatically, then you have power door locks. manual door locks cannot lock themselves.

there should be a rocker switch on the drivers door panel that locks and unlocks the doors.

and why do you hate fobs?

I bought this truck used so perhaps a key fob is missing.

That being said......yes, it locks and unlocks w/ no input by me other than key on-key off.

NO, there is no switch on the door panel or anywhere else to lock or unlock the doors.

Maybe the "Securilock" anti-theft system?

Now that we all know the issue, lets concentrate on the solution.

All I want to do is add a rocker switch to the door panel.

Does anyone know where the relay might be located ?

i would go to the junk yard and get a new panel with the power lock button in it. and make it look factory.

Good idea. But more importantly......who knows how to hook it up?

Its definitely not factory. If its got power locks it will have the switches on the door panels. Factory manual door locks will not lock automatically. Someone must have put actuators in or something.
