I have a 95 xlt and I am having trouble keeping my "roadside assistance" tools organized. Can anybody suggest a good box that will fit in back, behind the seats? I did a perfunctory search and all I saw were bed boxes or cargo nets. :buttkick:

gorilla box about 18 inches wide and 3ft or so long. I made a leg for mine so that it can sit on the rear hump and not slide around.

I have the Pittsburgh steel 300 piece in each of my vehicles. It has just about every thing you should ever need. You can pick them up for just over 100$ some times.

I have a 17" steel toolbox and a 16" tool bag both behind the driver seat. I got a 12" sub and an amp behind the passenger seat, my chains and other tools are in the tool box in the bed and I keep a small floor jack below the tool box as well. I've got all the tools I need and about 50 feet of chain just in case. the chains fit nicely in a small tool bag which make them easy to carry.

My x-tra cab space behind the split bench has a tool set in a plastic case, an elastic net fastened to the back wall, and loose crap all over the place.

I'd like to build an enclosed box, carpeted on top, with the top about the same level as the front seat.

My credo
the grey-t escape
i built one out of plywood, was only about 1/2 the width of cab so passenger side jump seat was still useable (and more importantly, passenger front seat could recline fully for when i was somewhere and needed a nap) had pictures on photobucket but of course thanks to them they are unveiwable. mine had a top lid that hinged backwards and i did have a lock on it. i had about everything in it, tools, floor jack, tow strap, even the crap youd normally keep in the glovebox. id even put my wallet back there so i wasnt sitting on it during long trips. i get another supercab it will be going back in. right now im in a reg cab longbed and theres not room for much more than a extra lacket behind the seats, be pointless to try and build a box for it.
