I have a 99 ranger and i was wondering if anyone has ever put on an aftermarket bumper that wasnt intended for a ranger on theirs. I understand that the mounting brackets would have to be modified. I would like to know how the fitment was or how you cusomized it to fit. I'm thinking about Jeep bumpers, F150 bumpers, Dakota bumpers, etc. Please let me know

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I have an aftermarket Jeep bumper on mine. I added brackets to the bumper that adapted it to my OEM brackets. It wasn't too hard and I think it looks decent. Photos in my build thread.

I bought it used. Perhaps I was misled. But it looks like the bumpers I've seen on hundreds of Jeeps. Definitely not a Ranger bumper.

That looks awesome on it! I was wondering if anyones done it before because Im more worried on the dimensions of the bumper than how i was going to mount it.

I originally thought I might have to trim a bit off the ends of the tubes. But it turns out that the width is fine.

I think my neck just broke

But yeah, Jeep Cherokee bumpers are a popular non-RBV option.

(now to see if I can straighten out my neck vertebrae :icon_twisted: :D )

Sorry about your neck. I uploaded from my phone and didn't realize it would do that.
