I just found these in my garage, and would like to sell them, but would like to confirm what they are, as it's been several years since I sold my BII.

I believe these are rear and front limited slip differentials for 87-90 BII's with 7.5" 28 spline axles.

Can anyone confirm? I can take and post additional images if needed.
Thank you.

Okay. I KNOW these are 7.5" 28 spline Ford differentials (Not 4.10's). I KNOW one is a limited slip for the rear differential (on the left?). It's the other one, the one on the right with the discs to the side - is this for the front?

I believe I bought limited slip units for both front and rear axles. Is there anybody on this site that can ID what a front limited slip differential for a 87-90 Ranger/BII looks like?

I can't help. I've heard there was a stock ford limited slip for the front d-28. Some of the knowledgeable members aren't on site everyday so wait a couple days and then bump your post.

That D28 LSD would make for a really cool conversation piece but I would find it hard to justify anyone adding that to a notoriously weak axle when a D35 swap is better way to spend money.

That's not a D28 front diff on the right if the one on the left is for a 7.5" (a D28 would be much smaller).

If both of those diffs have 28 spline side gears, then neither one of them is for the front (fronts are either 27 spline (D35 axle) or 23 spline (D28 axle)).

The one on the right is definitely smaller/narrower. Also you can see the e-clip that holds the left axle in the diff in the one picture.

Firstly, thanks to those who have responded, it is much appreciated.

The split case unit (left) has: 10 hole pattern, ~6 ½ inch diameter flange, 28 splines and is stamped with 24383- (at least as best as I can read).

The right side unit has: 10 hole pattern, ~6 inch diameter flange, 23 splines and is stamped 21182 (but very hard to read, may be some other numbers).

Does this help?

28 spline would suggest a 7.5 rear & the 23 spline would be a D28.

Must be the angle of the pic then.

The side gear splines confirm it though, 28 spline (w/6½" flange) would be a 7.5", 23 splines is D28.

Thanks again for figuring this out. One more question - What might these two be worth - sold together?
