I just found TRS and am worried about how much time I will be spending here.

I just picked up a 1993 Ranger Reg Cab 4x4 with a lift and 33" mudders. The tires will be going soon, but the main problem is the thing stinks like smoke, the carpet is really dirty, and the seats are old.

I've thought about replacing the carpet, but see that many have had success washing it. The seats, on the other hand, seem to be a popular topic. My current plan is to have them cleaned and then put covers on them and hope that is enough. Replacing them would be nice, but I'm very confused by the many options that may or may not fit.:no2:

Any opinions would be helpful. I found the carpet for under $100, but have never done a project like that before. I've seen the list of compatible seats and will make some phone calls later this week to the junk yards (once I find out where they are).

Well.. does it have buckets, 60/40, or a full bench? I've seen '93 rangers with each.

If you have 60/40 seats finding covers will be hell, although I've heard that they can be stretched to fit..

It's 60/40 and the armrest doesn't stay closed. I actually saw a 60/40 seat cover at my local parts place today. Plus, there are a bunch on the internet. I wouldn't mind switching to buckets if it could get me nicer seats without covers.

Look for some seats out of an explorer. You should be able to replace the carpet and seats with stuff from a U pull it junkyard for under $150 at the very most.

Thanks

Thanks for the input. Now I have to find the junk yards.
