Painted over the logo. I did the rear bumper as well. The bumpers have about 7 coats of rocker guard. For the chrome...i started sanding with 40 grit, then 80..then 180. The bottom plastic part pf the bumper i just scuffed up with 180 gritt. If it starts to wear off the crome...its easy to touch it up. I might try the rims next...lol

Nice...is that Home Depot Gutter Guard on there? Someone did a similar mod a few years ago and I was going to attack my first gen grill with something similar...fortunately, I found a pristine original and settled on that...

I painted the honeycome grille black in my '02 F-150 last summer. It had faded to a splotchy light gray over the years. It made a huge difference.

Original plan was to swap in a Expedition grille that was nice and black, I dropped the grille guard, pulled the lights pulled, the grille and took the grille apart... the surround is vastly different shaped apparently so you can't just swap the inners. :annoyed:

Definitely looks good! Is it for protection or looks?

...Just for looks only. I wrecked my rav4 and needed a vehicle with awd/4×4 in a hurry to get back and forth to work. I couldn't pass up on this ranger. A clean 03 with 67,000 miles and a 4x4 for $3000. They normally go for $4500- $5000 around these parts.
...The color..gold...well that's a different story. Just hate the color..lol. I rocker guarded the lower side panels which helped a lot to break the color up. Then I did the front and back bumpers and grill. This made a huge difference in the looks! The front end looks awesome outside in natural light. My next move is to sand the rims which are peeling bad and hit them with rocker guard also.

I meant the actual grill...some have removed the original plastic and replaced it with gutter guard screen. It looks good too....I don't spend much time looking at the later body styles and trim to know what is stock or mod.

My whole frame lower half of my cab and box were coated with rocker guard...the one that dries so you can paint it to match body colour if desired.

...Its the stock grill. The rocker guard I used is also paintable 6hrs after the last coat is applied.
