Ok the decision has been made that my company will convert a ranger to run on tri fuels however gasoline will not be one of them.HD-5 propane will be the main fuel of choice with the option to run CNG and as soon as the agreement has been set we will experiment with NH3 in cooperation with a separate company that is far advanced with this gas for ICE combustion.
The issue at hand at the moment is to modify a 97 Ranger 4.0 for higher fuel efficiency. While the 4.0 is not the first engine of choice it will be a suitable V6 candidate for this project. At a later date we will progress to a different vehicle such as an F150.
The fuel delivery system will remain MPI that’s the easy part. What I am looking for are those who have experience modifying the 4.0 mechanicals –NO newbies or Jr mechanics please!
So are there any qualified 4.0 builders here?
