In the middle of a horrendeously long shift last night at work the thought crossed my mind... could a guy take the front clip off a 3rd gen ranger, put it on a BII, and make it to where it doesn't look horrible? (i.e. the body lines on the front fender lining up and such). I'm kind of a fan of the 3rd gen rangers being it was one of the most hands-down reliable rigs I've ever owned ('94 4.0 5 spd 4x4), but now I'm on my 3rd bronco II which I have equal love for. I want the best of both worlds. The front clip and the drive train out of my old gen 3 ranger put on/into my '85 BII? Oh the things that cross my mind... To the shop with me!!! (with an evil laugh)

id just swap the whole drive train.
just having the 4.0 under the hood, and you wont give a fudge what ur front bumper looks like :D

i had a similar thought looking for doors one day for my B2 but i dont think body lines would be easy to match up at all

We have a member on here with a '05 front end (I think, somewhere near that year) on a first gen explorer sport, and it looks excellent, so I'd think a BII would line up fairly good. I personally don't like the 3rd gen front end as much as a 2nd gen, so I think you're crazy anyways! One of my neighbors put an '07 front end on a '98 explorer sport, it looks good from 10+ feet away, the front half of the fender is the newer ranger, and the rear half is the original fender, so you can see a slight seam where he welded it and didn't smooth it out.

There are pics of the mcneil raing fenders somewhere. It looks ok. Gen 2 looks best anyways, unless you go round headlights on a gen 1
