Why are you here if your only purpose is to troll threads?

Not sure why Super Moderator would call my opinions trolling. I come here because I am a genuine Ford enthusiast and own Ford trucks and I read the parts of the forum that are interesting to me.

This thread is all about bellyaching because Ford isn't building the Ranger you all want. It's so funny.

Your opinions about the topic at hand are not trolling.

Your frequent belittling of other users about -their- opinions is, and has no place on this forum.

It seems we are having the same argument that met the demise of the ranger in the first place. Nobody wants to pay 40k for a ranger when you can get this

Pretty sure that engine wouldn't like doing real truck things. In a Mustang sure, bring it on. A plain ol' NA 5.0 (gotta be 4wd too) would be fine with me in a F-150 though.

And back to what Jim mentioned earlier. All we have is the MSRP for the Ranger. The MSRP for a '150 is higher. Real street price is lower as will the Ranger's real street price. Nobody pays MSRP for a vehicle.

There are no dealer sales, rebates or any other specials on Rangers because they do not exist yet... so how can they be on sale?

If you don't like and aren't interested in Ford vehicles, why are you here ?

Why do you think I'm here??? I had the last generation Ranger and loved it. I am puzzled why you seem to think Ford Enthusiasts have to like EVERYTHING Ford puts out or does. ......???????????

I do not think such. I just think it is hilarious some people are butthurt because the new Ranger isn't what they wanted.

It is the same 5.0 as the other F150's, just with a Whipple SC and tune. It will do whatever "truck things" the cab/drivetrain/etc would be capable of without the SC.

That it has the same 5.0 is what concerns me.

They slap a blower and tune on a 380hp NA 5.0 and bump it to 725. That is almost double the stock hp. It is not made like an Ecoboost, it is not made to make that kind of power or really even boost in general from the factory. Then you can get into other things like cooling system before you get to other things like the driveline. It will make more heat, it will suck more gas too.

IMO as someone who does tow I think it is playing with fire and I would fully expect to get burned doing it. And then you get to play he said she said trying to get an aftermarket company to shell out money for their added cost warranty.

No thank you. :icon_thumby:

For doing typical Lightning type stuff go for it. :icon_thumby:

The Coyote 5.0 has the guts to handle turbos or supercharger. The dealership will install a supercharger when they get it in from the factory. The truck retains the factory warranty.

From the website......
"What about the warranty? If any damage was done to Ford's power train as a direct result of this upgrade, that repair would not be covered by Ford. However, Ford's warranty is still in tact for any non-related defects."

If Ford installs the Ford (Roush) supercharger, Ford will back it up. The dealership will not install the Whipple or anything other than Ford (Roush).

Did you even open the link we're discussing? It explicitly states that this is a Whipple supercharger that the dealer is offering to install, and that Ford won't cover any powertrain damage it causes.

They do mention a Roushcharger option that only has 640hp and has a 3yr/36k warranty.

Whipple is the big dog at 725 though.

Right, it's mentioned as an alternative to the whipple that they're primarily advertising.
