Trying to figure out what this switch or sensor is so I can get a replacement. Looks like it may have been previously damaged and I didn't help it any getting the transmission out of my truck. Truck is a 94 Mazda b4000 with a 5speed.

A part number or link would be super helpful. I thought it was the neutral switch but all I can find are 4 wire ones and they don't have the wires coming off them. Thanks!

No, backup lights are on the left. That is a neutral switch. It adjusts the idle.

The referenced thread above talks about that. They don't list that switch on any parts websites, but it appears that the Beck Arnley 201-1641 will work as a replacement.

i dont think its the neutral switch...my neutral switch on my 5 speed had one pink/red wire and one solid red wire. its all linked with the ignition and clutch pedal

The Beck Arnley 201-1641 didn't work. In fact what they sent looks nothing like what is pictured. I am wondering if Beck Arnley changed up their part numbers. Googling that switch it seems based on the who is selling it you get a picture that looks almost like the switch in my transmission or one with a much longer tail/extension. Of course the one they sent has the much longer tail.

I'm going to try ordering a Standard Motor Products LS222 Neutral/Backup Switch to see if it is a match.

No it isn't. That's the one for the clutch pedal. The one on the trans is only for idle strategy.

You don't really need it, the Neutral sensor, it was only used for a few years on Rangers, a few more on Explorers I think

The clutch pedal switch is the "neutral switch" for Starting engine, 4low, RPM hold shifting

Every single one I've seen has had that sealant on it. Probably not damaged, it's just a weird way of preventing a leak at the factory.
