Had a similar set in my 84 Ranger. Had to grind the headlight ring openings to get the rings to go over and screw down. Great light output. Mine were these with amber led's. Got them off ebay also. Now they are just sitting on the truck doing nothing. Truck is going to get scrapped. They should just bolt right in.

hi dw8

I guess i wasn't wording my question....

not to worried about the physical application, it is the bulb holder itself that i need to get to work. the 83 has the 3 prong (old school) light wireing systgem, and these holders have the new style for the HID kits to be installed. i want to just keep the halogen style that are used in the 2nd gen trucks... what type of holder do it need to get to use those bulbs?

thanks

Those lights are setup to use a H4 bulb. Exact same plug as the old sealbeam. The ebay auction also says H4 halfway down in the product description.

Hi,

thanks... i was starting to do some research on these style lights and was getting the gist of how they would be installed. stumbled into the idea that i didn't need a special holder to hold these bulbs.

so thanks for the confirmation on these bulbs :) i get it now.

cheers

Ok got it all in. thanks for the help!!

was a snap after i got the bulbs figured out. if anyone is going to do this, I drilled and placed a grommet for the wires to pass through the light bucket to keep the wires from rubbing the under side of the bucket. the halos will be switched inside the cab when i want them on. not wired to the headlights.

cheers
