I just bought a 99 ranger for my son. half of the dash lights dont work. If I have to pull the cluster to find the problem, could I just swap out a factory cluster with the tach, or is this not as simple as it seems. I found a ton of them at the junkyard today and thought it might be a cool project for the 2 of us.

On a 99 you should be able to just swap in a tach cluster.

Not sure I'd consider that to be a large enough job to call a "project", but it should work just fine.
