Truck- 2000 4.0 w/ a 5r55e out of a 2003ish 4.0 ranger.
The under carriage of my truck is coated w/ trans fluid from the tail shaft back. The seal looks good, is it possible that it is spewing fluid out as I am driving?
The problem started when I was back halfing my truck and the dshaft pulled out. I filled it back up, let it idle for 30 mins and went through the gears in park without a hitch. Then as soon as I hit 2nd on the street it starting making a grinding noise... Now the under carriage is coated. Dont really want to swap in a new trans if its something easy to replace/fix.
Any thoughts?
