Hello!
I have documented my fuel injector replacement problem in previous articles.
I have mis-assembled the throttle body. Examine this 3rd party copyrighted (probably)picture to help. See prev article for stackexchange source (not likely primary).

I can not crank past the accessories coming on , incl fuel gauge. It doesn't cough but intake manifold and air intake have been reassembled properly I think.
Ideas?

Sincerely,
JC Magras

WTF do you mean by "I can't crank past accessories coming on"?

Yes, I too am puzzled by your question??

You got the image from here: https://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/46168/procedure-for-throttle-body-and-idle-air-control-replacement-ford-ranger

So are you asking about the throttle cable linkage?

"Crank" usually means starter motor is turning engine over, i.e. "engine cranks but doesn't start"

ACC or accessories is usually a reference to ignition KEY position, i.e. ACC, OFF, RUN, START are the 4 ignition key positions

Accessories can also refer to alternator, power steer pump, AC compressor, basically anything powered by an engine's Fan Belt
Water pump and fan are not usually refer to as accessories, even though they are powered by fan belt :)

I crank, but no engine noise just the accessories lighting up. No turn over. I believe I put the new fuel injectors in snugly and the intake manifold are installed correctly.
I was looking for a checklist for this common problem.
The image I am trying to decode what perspective it was drawn from and continues a related question I posted.

What happens is:
1: I put the key in ignition
2: i turn said key to start vehicle
Vehicle engine does not make a sound but the dashboard and gauges show values.
No engine start or click sounds or rehr-rehr

That has nothing to do with the throttle body. Are you sure the battery is fully charged and the connections at the battery posts and starter are good?

I would think 10amps of solar power fort two days would do the trick. Multimeter? (CD player was loud)

Transmission needs to be in PARK or Neutral, if in Park then TRY shifting Neutral and starting

If Manual Transmission then Clutch Pedal needs to be down all the way to crank engine.

Turn key ON, but not to start
If you see a Red Flashing light, Theft light, then you have a bad key.

1999 and up Rangers have special keys matched to the computers, engine won't crank without correct key

After checking all that, if it still doesn't work try this:

Turn the key on to run. Turn the AC/heater fan on high. Turn the key to try and start the engine. If the fan doesn't turn off something is wrong and the ignition switch isn't going to "start".

Turning key turns off cabin heater

Hello,
Thx for your help so far.
Trying to start gets the cabin heater airflow to stop and control panel lites to come on including the lowest left hand light that I don't recognize(looks like a car+ lock maybe.

JC Magras

The Car with Lock symbol means Immobilizer is activated, which is why engine will not start

Do you see any lights flashing?

Take out the key and lock and close the doors(leave window down just in case) then unlock the doors with key fob and then try to start engine

If that doesn't work unhook 1 battery cable for 5 minutes, then hook it back up
Unlock doors with key fob, even if they are not locked, and try to start

Removing battery cables does not reset immobilizer

Hello,
I removed the battery cables temporarily and locked and unlocked the door before retrying the ignition.
Same problem. Truck is registered.

Is there a Flashing Light with key on?

If immobilizer light stays on steady then leave key on, do not try to start engine, wait for at least 1 minute and then see if the immobilizer light starts to Flash a Code Number, like 1 quick flash, short pause then 5 quick flashes, then Long Pause, and it will repeat the 1 and 5 again, thats code 15

Override immobilizer codes

Thx for your help!
I saw a video for entering a code that partially depends on turning door lock alternating directions.
Relevant?
Sincerely,
