Hi all, I've been trolling Ranger forums while looking for a truck to buy. I finally found one a couple of weeks ago. It's a 1989 XLT 4X4 extended cab with the 2.9 v6 & 5 speed. I picked it up for $1200 which seemed like a great deal.
Since getting it I've spent another $400 on it. Replaced TPS, PCV, plugs, wires, cap, & rotor. This was to get it to pass emissions. I also bought a new battery because the other one was undersized. I also found a 1990 at the pull-a-part yard and got all the underhood A/C parts, as mine were missing, plus some inside trim parts, straight bumper, & under bed spare tire carrier.
The body is rust free with only a few minor dents. Interior is nice with no tears in the seats. It has power windows and locks. The driver window needed a new motor gear to work properly.
I like this forum because it has great info and seems to be visited often.
