its a 89 2.9, 5spd, 4x4, manual 4x4, 4" unknown lift, 15x10 wheels, 31x10.50 BFG tires. tilt, cruise, rear window that folds up. i got it for $1,650. drove it 2 hrs home as well. the po said his fenders were dented up so pick a part had a bunch of cash for clunkers and he took the front clip, seats and headliner, as well and the rear hatch for the window that lifts up. body has 185k mi and the engine said it was rebuilt a few yrs ago with no proof but it is painted blue.

bads: ac doesnt work, its all there. needs shocks in the rear. might as well replace them all the way around. i dont know what lift it is so how do i order new ones? the po said they swapped in 3.73 in the rear but the front still had 3.45 gears. i went and tried it out in some sand when i got home and 4wd was working. i know not to use it on the pavement like that.

few questions:
where to get new shocks?

it runs good. underpowered of course. there is a miss while running down the rd. now a steady miss but there is one. at idle its fine and dont feel it. it does have a new cap that i can tell but old plugs and wires. probably gonna change them and see whats up.

what gears do i need to look for. im gonna run a 33" tire max. it has 3.73 and 31 and it sucks. i was thinking 4.88?

im looking for a dana 35/8.8 to swap in. maybe a 4.0 as well

what is notorius for going wrong with these b2's or what to look 4. sorry for the long post.

on to the pics....

All i Can say is keep an eye on coolant leval and temperature
the 2.9ls are known to get hot and crack
also check the timing it never hurts set at 10degrees

I just got my 4.0 today cant wait to get it in!!!!!!!!

I had tons of trouble with my 2.9 as far as overheating burning out water pumps cracked a head rebuilt the whole thing three months ago and it is still giving me problems

I highly doubt 25-28 mph. Actually it was never that good from the factory.

You must have a auto if 3.73 and 31's are that bad.

I'm easily getting that mileage! that is perfect! Im running a CAI though.. I also took my AC compressor off because i didnt feel like converting it. That saves me a couple mpgs because its not a belt dragging on my engine anymore.

Start lookin for a 4.0 now. Cause once its in you will throw rocks at that 2.9.

I get decent mileage. Plenty of power. And its a blast to drive

Holy offset batman. 31x10.50's look stretched on 10" wheels, the whole thing just looks, I dunno. Definitely needs cutout flares and 33's. Make sure they're wider than 10.5, too. How can you even keep it clean? You'd probably get pulled over in my state, and I know you won't get a legal inspection, either.

im not worried about state inspections where i live. they just look at it and slap a sticker on it. yep it is a 5spd and 31s. its a dog. timing must be off or something.
