I bought a roll of LED strips on amazon, and I've been seeing a bunch of different things about which wire to splice into to get the lights to turn on with the overhead light when you roll the dimmer switch and when you open the door. Which wire is it?

Also which relay should I use if I wanted to have it set up so they would turn on with the door being open and a manual override switch?

Thanks!

led's dont use much, so just go buy a generic relay switch. there a few bucks at the parts store. plenty of good info in the tech section about wiring. i have a saturn that has lights in the cup holder that turn on when the door is opened. i spliced into that for the foot well lights. but i dont know of any thing like that for a ranger.

At the dimmer switch, you should see a black with pink striped wire...test it, it should turn on with the dimmer at top most position, or when door is opened

I'd just hit the wire that runs the dome light. Sounds like you want them to come on with the dome light anyway.
