What is the best way to get the clutch hydraulics to work in an '85?

I think I remember reading the connector was different between the newer F-150 slave and the older Ranger master... but I don't remember which line and master work.

I didn't think to look when I pulled the trans back in March but is there supposed to be a reservoir in the system too?

Truck was an automatic from the factory so I have nothing to work with. I have the pedals from I think an '84 though.

You’ll need a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for a 89-92 ranger. 7/8 bore. The ranger and f150 trans use the same style slave cylinders. And the ranger one will bolt right on no issues.

That is just what I needed to know.

I think aside from the clutch the only other potential snags are the tranny crossmember and getting the FX4LVII shifters to work... which I don't think will be that hard.

There in-lies the snag.

For the C5 I had to slide the crossmember ahead to the farthest forward set of holes. Frame rails are not exactly parallel there I had to take about a shy inch off the one side and drill a new hole in the crossmember.



M5OD is about the same length as the old A4LD so I need to make my crossmember grow about an inch to get it about back where it was. Nothing really hard, I just have to find out where the chips land yet.
