I'm wondering if the 2.9l headers will fit a 2.8l. I only ask because my room mate just bought 2.9l Headers for his Ranger and when he tryed taking the stock manifolds off he broke most of the bolts:shok:. Long story short he sold the Ranger and now he stuck with the headers sitting on the living room floor. I want to stick them on my 2.8l Bronco if poss:beer:ible.

Nope, won't work. The 2.8 shared exhaust manifolds with the Tanus V4 and so despite being a 6 cylinder it only has 4 exhaust ports. It runs siamesed ports. The 2.9 has a full set of 6, so the 2.9 headers won't line up on your 2.8 heads.

It would have been a pretty goofy setup for a four cylinder, it might only have two ports but they are different than what they would have ran for a V-4.

But yeah, they are different between a 2.8 and 2.9.

IM sorry, but your roommate is jsut fawkin goofy. He could have gotten the tool for like 15 bux to back out the header bolts. THen replaced them with header studs from the parts store. Geez not worth selling a truck over.
