While my Bronco II is getting a lot of NOS parts replaced (some just to make it look nicer and newer) My wiper's only work on the lowest setting on the intermittent setting. I saw on here someone had a 1988 Bronco II with the same problem. But I don't see any relays, Maybe location change from 86 to 88?

Thanks!
Charles

Have you changed the switch?

My '85 (which has a later steering column) was similar, I found a nice looking switch in the JY and fixed that... but now the squirter is weak. :annoyed:

I just found a NOS original replacement. I just ordered it for $85.00 I will try it first. But i was going to Locate that relay I heard about, while I had my instrument cluster, stereo, steering column and steering wheel out of the Bronco.

There is no relay per se. There is a control module that the switch reports to, and it then controls the motor. Its in a dumb spot too.

If you look up under the dash, in the driver's foot well, going from the bottom of the dash, just at the leftmost side of the transmission tunnel and heading up toward the steering column, there is a black bar. Bolted to the back (side facing the firewall) of that bar is your wiper control box. It has a pigtail coming out of it going to a big D shaped grey plug.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Had problem with that module on my 88 F150. Took module out and it rattled. Opened it and found a capacitor broken off the board. Went to Radio Shack and bought an assortment pack of capacitors that had the right one in it. Soldered it to the board and wipers worked great forever. I think my symptom was probably different though. It was the delay timing cap. So my wipers would wipe once, then stop because they were waiting for an infinite delay time.

Good luck finding a Radio Shack with actual unassembled electronic parts to sell these days.

Well now you know.
PO drilled a bunch of holes at random in the steel lower dash so I pulled another nice tan one at the JY. I got to that brace and was like "that is a substantial piece of something electronic" :icon_confused:
