I have contacted a local spring manufacture to see about getting a spring made for the E-clip eliminator modification in the Dana 28 and Dana 35 TTB axles.

Depending on price, I am looking to see how many would be interested in purchasing a spring already setup. It would be ready for installation without any modification to the spring.

The spring would be 2" long (depending on feedback from users who have done the mod) and 1-1/4" inner diameter. I will take advice as to the strength of the spring.

Let me know so I can get a count on the # of springs for a production run.

Do you have a link to a place that sells it or a link to it on their site?

If they sell it, then why is no one using it for their axle? Why is this the first it has came up?

I just used an old valve spring in mine with no fuss or muss. Seems to be doing just fine!

Just ask anyone that carries Detroit lockers (products) for that P/N.

TRS Fab, Randy's and probably a bunch more will have it.

Are talking External or Internal springs here? I think engdept is talking about one of these:

That is the spring I am looking at getting. I have read bad things about the internal spring.

Even if there is a chance of slipping the grove, you should be able to put a tack weld on each end without any problems.

What caps are people talking about needing to be welded? There is absolutely no pictures of this.

This shaft is missing the cap.

This shaft has the cap. It has been tack welded.
