hi, I am working on a 92 ranger 4.0. when I first looked at it the iac was unplugged, and it would idle on and off. I plugged it back in when cold and worked. off when warm. I put a new one on replaced fuel pump filter and regulator to get correct fuel pressure. it seemed to idle worse. it currently runs for about 20 seconds then dies, restarts but dies. it has had issues for some time, is a friends, was her dads, and had sat for 2 years. it has almost every possible new sensor and thing replaced. I need help. I have had this issue before on other cars and had a bad crank sensor. any ideas?

This sounds exactly like what mine was doing a few weeks ago. Have you pulled codes?

If all the sensors have been replaced, I’d probably pull the ecm out and open it up and check for burnt or blown up capacitors or corrosion.

Mine was doing the same thing and was throwing maf codes. Replaced the maf and same thing. Pulled the ecm and opened it up and a capacitor in the middle had corrosion and was burnt up there as well.

I had to order a rebuilt ecm from eBay.
Cause cardon was or is on a blackout till feb 28th.
Cost me $200 after shipping.
