Ok so I'm getting ready to fix the ranger and I just want to make sure I have the right part name before I order it from a junk yard in kansas and can't return it.
Is the arrow in the picture below pointing to the upper intake manifold or is it the lower? I'm referring to the part that connects/bolts to the blue thermostat housing. As stated this is for ordering a part so please no jokes. You can bash me for the noob question later ![]() the pic is of an 07 vulcan and mines a 99 but as far as I know there's no difference in the layout as far as the manifolds are concerned. If it helps the hole (the reason its being replaced) in the manifold is an inch or so from the t-stat housing. That's what I need to replace |

If the arrow is pointing to the silver component, then it is the lower intake manifold. The Black section is the upper intake. Maybe an option rather than replace the lower intake, could you just drill & tap it for a pipe plug? Not sure how big the hole in your intake is, but that might be something for you to look into.
