Is removal of the amp meter as simple as connecting the two gauge wires together? Or is there something else that needs to be done?
Thanks

update
I have looked at a factory diagram, Red w/orange and Yellow w/green feed into the cab and the shunt is located under the hood. I think the the two wires could be spliced under the hood to avoid the current load going into the cab on a loop. Thoughts?

A wild guess: Just remove the gauge and do not splice any thing together. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

I want to safely remove the amp meter in favor of a voltage gauge.
