in the middle of a teardown. need answer as to how to take apart the knob from the locking latch on gen 1 ranger's glove box?

tried pulling and prying, but didn't want to bust it. can any one tell me if there are some tiny screws holding it together that i can't see?

thanks

Haven't seen an 83 glove box but if you have pics it might help us figure it out...I know there are probably pics in the on-line manual but it takes about 5 minutes to dig through it all...

My 88 i believe has a ring nut that loosens but...it's been 3 months since i've seen it and I no longer have that dash installed...

Go here if you want to search the on-line manual...

hi mark, and all.

i was able to get it today after taking a real close look at it.

you can't pull on it because there is a reversed locking ring spring thing that needs to be pushed inwards then that will unlock the knob from the large tumbler thing.....

uhhhg glad i didn't lose it and pull real hard to get it apart.

cheers all.
