Hi , I'm new to the site and I recently picked up a 1993 Splash . I also am putting a 93 5.0 roller motor into this with intake , carb , E303 cam , and a c4 transmission . I have been looking at the conversion kits but I already have the headers. I read some where that I can use the explorer 5.0 mounts for this conversion. Is this true and if so which year ? If they will not work does someone have a link where I can order the correct motor mounts ?
Thanks for any and all advice ,it's very much appreciated !

You want '87-'95 Mustang mounts.

If I had it to do over again I would use V6 Ranger mounts with plates.

The Mustang convertable mounts are ok, you have to slot the crossmember to fit them. I cut one slot too far so the engine wants to be rolled to one side slightly no matter how tight I get the nut.

You want either Foxbody convertable mounts or 94-95 mounts if you go the Mustang route, they are the same. 2.8/2.9/4.0 mounts if you go the V6 route. If you don't have one of those engines to start with I dunno how they fit in a 2.3/3.0 truck...

I am doing a v8 conversion as we speak.

I bought the mustang convertible motor mounts. They WILL NOT fit unless you slot the cross member. And, they are too wide. Mine hit the very top of the engine cross member. I took them back and bought thev6 mounts ($20 less too!) And I'm building the plates instead.

I used v6 Ranger motor mounts in my 4cylinder 2.3 frame.

Did the V6 mounts drop into existing holes or did you have to make new ones?

The studs of the vert mounts hit at the tip initially, once you cut your slots they drop down quite abit.

Mustang mounts are designed to fit in a slot- the stud is angled outward, how else would you expect them to work? Same as in their original application.

Just one of many options out there. For some people, it's easier to drill and cut than to fab a new part.

Except that Ford has the exact specs to cut the slots programed into their fancy laser cutter.

This summer I need to lift the engine back up and try to shape a spacer so the oil pan doesn't rub on the crossmember on the DS. Without a bunch of shims my drain plug was sitting hard on the pivot bracket. Still had to hacksaw it off to change the oil the first time. They work but nothing about it is really wonderful as far as fit goes.

I'm in the same boat, I need to raise up my engine because it has settled down and is about to touch my engine cross member.

The v6 mounts fit with no modifications. It was simply a bolt in deal. The passenger side on my engine cross member has two options for engine mount holes though

OK. So no motor mounts work ? Unless you buy the mounts from summit racing or make your own ?
No one on here makes them and sells them ?

So no one makes motor mounts on this site ?
I got like 4 different answers , lol.
Do any motor mounts bolt right up and if so which ones ?

Thanks 85_Ranger . That link was very helpful . So the 1984-1993 Ford MUSTANG 5.0 Convertible Motor Mounts if switched around are a direct bolt up ? Why doesn't everyone use these then ? I just wanna know before I buy anything .
