So I'm in the middle of doing the 35 swap on my 89 Bronco II. I'm having trouble lining everything up. Right now I can't get the passenger side axle shaft to slip into the yoke to put the axle arm into the pivot bracket (not sure the technical term). Can anyone help me out?

A friend is helping me on doing the ball joints on the same side as you are doing. . All in the information says it's just a slip joint! but line up the yokes Could it be splined to only go a certain way?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
It will slip together in almost any orientation.

BUT....

You need to make sure the u-joints at the wheel and at the differential are properly aligned. Otherwise they will bind and cause trouble when the suspension travels. Read all the tech articles about u-joints.

I marked a line across my slip joint before separating the splines during disassembly. That way I can put it back the way it was.

I've found it's easier to put the radius arm into it's bracket first, and then put the beam into the axle pivot bracket. :icon_thumby:

I got it figured out. Ended up pulling the passenger side axle shaft and taking the drag link apart. Made life so much easier. I bought a set of lockouts from the junkyard like a year ago so I decided to buy a hub conversion kit since I took it apart anyways. Driver side is almost done. Didn't realize I needed longer brake lines. Luckily I had the Explorer brake lines on hand. Thanks for replying to my post though!
