I noticed my map sensor dose not have a vacuum line hooked up to it, should it? My 4.0 came from a 91 explorer, it seems to run fine, just wondering if I should run a vacuum line to it

No

4.0l engines were first used in 1990, so all their computers use MAF(mass air flow) sensor to calculate air/fuel mix on the fly.

MAP(manifold absolute pressure) sensor was used on earlier engines and computers to calculate air/fuel mix, these were also called Speed Density systems.

You could probably sell it :) , new Motorcraft MAP sensor goes for $125

MAF system can adjust to changes in the engine.

MAP system couldn't, it just ran pre-set air/fuel mixes from a table in memory.
