You have a different problem. Yours is the temp sending unit, don't be me and get the wrong one! You should have two, ones a two prong connector, the other is a one prong connector.
The two prong one tells your computer what temperature the motor is running, while the one prong sends the temperature up to the gauge in your dash.

I was stupid and got the two prong first thinking it'd fix my dash gauge, to my luck! It didn't and then I went and got the other one... $70 later in two connectors, and a very unhappy camper! Haha

The temp of the truck on the dash dosent bother me but could it have a huge problem with the running of the truck and if so could you fool the computer with resistors like a 89f150 I have a weird intermittent idel and power problem similar maybe

I don't entirely understand what you're trying to ask.

The temperature of the motor could have a huge problem with the running of the truck? If you believe that's a problem, replace both the sensors. Then you have your gauge back (always nice to have) and you'll have a sensor to tell your computer what temperature the motor is

I work 15-45 minutes from work (depends on traffic) I use to be able to cook myself in the cab before I did my head gasket. Now I get nothing but luke warm air that does nothing in below 30 degree weather!!

Fixed the heater problem!!!! I put the thermostat in backwards. Haha, anyway, I believe this concludes my engine troubles, as I am not having any others.............. For now ;) Thanks everyone for helping me, and I'll surely be lurking around reading more and more posts ( hints at starting a 302 build..... ;) ;) ;) :p )
