94 4.0l swapped into 87 bronco ii. No smoke, no smell. Slight rear main leak-maybe drop or two on the floor overnight. Before swap i completely disassembled and replaced main and rod bearings, cam bearings, rings, and rocker arms. Engine runs great. steady 20" at idle, idles at steady 750 - 800 in drive, no codes, passes cylinder balance test. VERY slight coolant loss with no signature. Problem is used EIGHT QUARTS of oil last 3000 mile interval. Im working on the third oil change, so yeah, where'd it go? Pulled my #5 plug and it looked like this any possibility lower manifold gaskets could cause this kind of oil consumption without serious driveability issues?
