So I'm looking to put wheels and tires on my 88 xlt 2wd but have no clue on what sizes fit good and what kind of clearance issues I may have. Any thoughts?:icon_hornsup:

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
Assuming you want a street all-season tire I would go with a 215/70-15 on a 6" or 7" wide rim or a 235/60-15 on a 7" or 8" wide rim.
2wd's at that time came with 14" wheels standard so if you want to keep your stock wheels your tire selection is a lot more limited. I'd recommend moving up to 15" wheels.
If you want something a little different you could use 16" Explorer wheels, plentiful enough in junkyards, and a 225/60-16 tire.
