Sorry guys i know this thread propbably doesnt go belong in this forum but, does anyone know of an online manual for a 1994 b3000. i need to know how to retrieve the fault codes from the computer via cel flashes. thanks

Three digit codes? Isn't your 94 an OBDII?

I believe its an OBDI system I does not have a normal datalink plug. after reading this i gues you have to read the pulses of the anologe voltmeter and not the cel?

It is probably an OBDI system. My 94 is. Don't believe OBDII came in till the 95 model year.

However to your question you can use the check engine light to find the codes.

Here is a link that should help. Has diagrams too so you can see how to hook it up. I have read a paper clip works to jump the two connectors but have never tried it. I have jumper wires with alligator clips so just used those.

Ok so I ran the codes and got.
124 TP voltage was higher than expected
157 Mass Air Flow signal is/was low or ground

The last time the CEL came the truck would rev to 3500 rpm when the clutch was engaged and when the CEL went off. The engine ran like normal.

Clean your MAF with electronic cleaner. But, I've used carb cleaner multiple times with success. Take out the MAF and spray it like Hell.

I have cleaned it with CRC MAF cleaner before. didnt make any difference...

I have cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF clear and it didnt make much difference.

The TP sensor tells the computer how far open the throttle plate is. If you have high volts, it thinks the throttle is open wide, so it will feed fuel. If the rpms stay high, I'd check and clean the IAC as if it is dirty, it can hang and hold up the rpms.
