You are better off just holding off until you find a hpd44 and 9in for sale. Can usually find that combination for a few hundred dollars, at least you can in wisconsin.

edit: I just seen you plan on going to 38s in your sig. imo 38s would really be pushing a hpd44. doable yes, ideal...probably not.
I was thinking the same but I figured it might be a way to go since in california finding a front and rear together for under 500 is almost unheard of. 38's is what im shootin for. Honestly the smallest tire I wanna run is a 35'' because I have 33's right now.

Kinda tinkered with the truck today started pulling the wiring off the motor while working on other stuff around tge shop, decided to take the whole thing out at once and throw it on an engine stand and see if its rebuildable. If it is I'm gonna run it if not I've decided that the 1st choice is v8.

Also, I'm trying to figure out what all I'll need for the swap.
Oil filter relocate kit
Motor mounts (any specifics?)
Swap headers if I decide to run them

I'm sure I missed a couple things so feel free to add to the list.

I think i might have had a power steering leak.lol. So I'm gonna try and clean the front end up and maybe put some undercoating under there to try and get rid of the rust and crap.

I'm going to assume the cracks in the web (2nd photo right of the valves) means they are toast ?

Yeah they're smoked. And the two pictures were both heads not just one side. So a total between the two were 5 cracks. So, back to square one. The pickn pull just had the 50% off sale too. With as much as its gonna cost to replace the heads I could by a whole motor.

So nothing really has happened to the truck, just sittin there. Been trying to get the money together to put a motor back in it. I might be gettin a 74 3/4 ton rear Dana 60 for free. So I might go that way or try and sell it and go with a 44/9" combo

I traded a guy for this bumper for the rear. The guy was going to junk it so I saved it from the scrap yard. Going to clean it up, put lights, and some d rings. Now if I could find one to match for the front.:icon_confused:

She finally lives! Went to the junkyard last weekend, just to look around and came across a 91 ranger. Popped the hood and the motor was too clean to pass up. Went backed to the house, grabbed the tools, and pulled the motor. Best part is I walked out paying alitte over $250 with almost everything on it. Pics:
With way the motor looked it had to have been rebuilt. But it's in now and I'm stoked to have the truck back!:icon_bounceblue:
