Hello, my 02 Ranger with a flareside is in need of a camper shell for my dog. It seems like options are very limited. Anyone know any companies that still sell shells for this truck? Open to fiberglass, aluminum and canvas tops.

Pictures of my truck to come later today!

If you are open to canvas, why not try and build your own?

Thought about that actually, i'm pretty good with wood working, miter cuts and stuff but I have no experience with metal work or canvas.

I bet swiss makes something. Everything is carriage built so if you name it they can build it.

Did you check craigslist? I found my hard to find topper that way.

Yea I check craigslist, but nothing for a stepside. I am really starting to like the SOFTOPPER canvas top. Little pricey but the truck it's going on is low mileage and would look awesome with that topper.

^^^ This is on a f150 but would apply to your truck. I had a metal supply business cut and bend two pieces of 1/4" aluminum plate. I attached the plate to the rails with Bolts with a Y type head so the head is flush with the top of the plate. Then the regular bed topper gets put on with more bolts, the normal hex head kind.
Doing it this way also allows a sliding shelf to be easily fitted.

They're hard to come by but they're definitely out there. Also check nearby cities on Craigslist. I had to drive like an hour for mine but well worth it
