From what ive read i dont think it will work. but i just wanted to make sure. I was wondering if a hitch off of a 2000 explorer will fit on my 99 ranger.

The explorer frames are wider in the rear, so I don't think it will work.

Yeh the explorer frame is noticibly wider than that of the ranger. Have you tried searching on craigslist or your local Pick-n-pull? I got mine from a pick -n - pull for $25 I believe.

yea i was gonna call around at some of the junkyards. the reason i was asking about the explorer hitch is cause my mom is getting rid of hers because its gonna cost too much to fix. so i was gonna grab the hitch off it.

It "can" fit. Just grab the chop saw and a welder!!! That is what I'm going to do, probably.

Liability?? Buy the proper hitch.
Agree. I wouldn't trust any part of chopping and welding a hitch. Have I done it "yes" but was not for the purpose of pulling a trailer. You can find them reasonable for right around $80.
