2002 Ranger 2wh drive.

What is the torque specification for the caliper attachment bolts??
I just did the front brakes and since I don't have a book I do not know the correct torque value.

I torqued them to 90 ft/lbs; but, I don't if that is too much or not enough. :dunno:

My book says when the air ratchet stops moving go another 1/4 turn.

FWIW the caliper bolts are not what is called 'torque critical'. Basically that means that if you didn't strip the threads or break the bolt you didn't make it too tight. If the bolt didn't fall out it must have been tight enough.

Are you talking about the caliper bolts, or the caliper bracket bolts? The bracket bolts are about 85 ft lbs, the caliper bolts are about 35 ft lbs IIRC.

The caliper attachment bolts. The ones that hold the calipers on the truck! Take two bolts out and the caliper assembly is in your hands and disconnected from the truck (except for the brake lines).

Thanks, sblake01. Those are the ones in question. Like I said I torqued them to 90 lb-ft on a guess. Probably within the plus or minus of the torque wrench. Good to go!!

I knew which ones you meant all along. No one (in their right mind) is going to attempt to put 85 or 90 ft. lbs. on the guide pin bolts......
