- Well, that didn't work. Let's try something else!
I've been working on getting this motor cleaned up, new gaskets, paint, etc, for the past 2 weeks. It's at my brother's place in Festus, about 35 miles from my place in St. Louis. All we had left was to mount the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate, then throw it back in.
Halfway through the flywheel bolts we hear a single gunshot followed by a burst of 5 or 6 more. Close. We run to the front of the house just in time to see a group of teens running away. Turns out 2 were shot. We wait and talk to the cops, then go back to the engine.
We get the clutch and everything on, go to push the truck back under the motor (the hoist can't roll cause the concrete is too busted up) and my keys are nowhere to be found. After much looking, I call my other brother who's living at my place right now and he confirms the keys are hanging on the hook back in St. Louis.
Well. At least I have a story to tell.
