89 Ranger 302 Swap

I've been trying to search forum threads but due to my PC being down and using the little screen on my phone it's a little difficult. Looking for any info that might help. I have a 89 Ranger 2.3L 5spd 2wd. I also have a 302 from an 84 F-150 that is pretty much ready to go. I found the TransDapt motor mount adapters but was wondering if anybody know if my stock trans will work with a 5.0 bellhousing. Not too familiar what the difference is between the T5 and my trans. Or if my trans won't work if a T5 will be able to be bolted up. I don't have a welder so looking to hopefully have as minimal modifications as possible. Thanks

Your ranger trans won't work, nor will the f150 intake. The T5 will bolt up...

Ok. I plan on using a Edelbrock dual plane intake with QuickFuel650 double pump as they are basically free from a friend's mustang build

What gears do you recommend? I'm thinking of swapping out to a 8.8 28 spline due to fact of straight bolt up. Found kit with LSD and 3.73 gears pretty decent price.

3.73's will work, but if you plan to do a lot of highway driving, or want the best fuel mileage, 3.27's or even 3.08's is your choice. There's 2.73, but I'd only run those in a diesel swap...

I'd look for an explorer 8.8...31 spline axles, disc brakes

The 5-spd from an f-150 with a 4.2 v-6 has the same bolt pattern as the 302, if you don't mind looking for a used trans. That's what I used in mine. Make sure it 98 or older, since they put the speedo sensor in the read axle in 99. You will need a longer speedo cable also.
