Hey guys, I have these running boards I bought off a guy from Craiglist last year. He claim these boards would bolt on. However they need a bracket. I have a 2000 FORD ranger extend cab that I would like to install these boards on. Can anyone help finds these brackets that goes to these boards. Let me know. Thanks.

Do the bolt to the inner rocker panel? Just make a bracket out of L shaped stock steel if thats the case.

I have inspected a couple of Rangers and I have not seen them install on the ones I saw. Most common are the after markets however these are Ford OEM boards.
I was trying to see if someone has these baords and see how the brackets looks like. Maybe I will try to invent a bracket.

just picking.....you need "L-brackets" to adapt them to your truck....I fabricated mine.

but you can find them online....mock up yours where you want them to be...then measure from the frame to the brackets already on yours.

That's the same style of board that my old 2003 Ranger had, but the brackets were turned the other way. Look up the picture for Ford P/N YL5Z-16450-CAB, you'll see the running board listed as about 6 different pieces. Are the brackets detachable from that running board?

I think these are the brackets you need if the brackets on that running board are detachable.
YL5Z-16484-AAA - RH Front bracket
YL5Z-16484-CAA - RH Rear bracket (4 door supercab)
YL5Z-16485-AAA - LH Front bracket (All cabs)
YL5Z-16485-CAA - LH Rear bracket (4 door supercab)

I'm not sure if it makes any sense to buy all those brackets - you can get both running boards, new, with the brackets already attached, from Tousley Ford for $225.00 (P/N 7L5Z-16450-DA). These are listed as 2011 Ford Ranger SuperCab 4 Door running boards, but I'm thinking they haven't changed the cab design since 1998? so it should fit.
