Hello, i have a 2000 Ranger XLT with the Offroad package, and i wanna lift it up, i have heard that it is quite cheap to lift it to a certain level of inch, i wanna get the limit before it gets expensive.

However, i have heard that the offroad package is already lifted a bit, so i was wondering what i should aim to buy with my above demand and something that could fit my specific truck? I dont wanna ask a mechanic since they will likely get me expensive crap. :annoyed:

Thanks. :icon_thumby:

crank the t-bars. free and you may be able to fit 32s. or get a # inch body lift. you may be able to fit 33s

Ah so, no need to buy mods to get a 3 inch increase? Would i need to re align the wheel after that?

My credo
Leave it better than you found it.
You will want an alignment after cranking the torsion bars to prolong the life of your tires. Don't go too high with them though...gets pretty rough on the CV joints and the ride. I went three full turns on mine and it gave me about an inch and a half. I have 31s and think I could fit 32s easily, maybe 33s, but that would probably be the limit and would likely rub some, not ti mention the effect on gearing.

What would be the recommended inch limit before changing shock is required and damage could be done on long term?

You generally don't want to go more than 2" or so above what was stock (you want to leave enough downtravel in the suspension so that it won't be 'topping out' (hitting max extension travel) as you crest over the top of speed bumps, etc).
