Default 51 IH L130 Project

Got this treasure a from my grandmother a week before her death. My grandpa, who died before I was born bought it new in late 1950.
It has been sitting since 1997 and Im pleased to say it has been my focus for the last couple months.

check it out!

How it was when i found it.

Bringing it home!

In need of some serious cleaning and repair!

Cleaned up a lot!
Sorry no pics of plugs, cap, rotor, coil, condensor and points replacement, and also new battery and wires, fuel filters and cleaning out the plugged fuel lines!

But she LIVES!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEBS71mZLGw

Started by cleaning the interior and dealing with the important issues. (can't see out the windows, cant hardly breath in it)

after a good scrubbing etc, I got on to the doors. (drivers wouldn't close, passengers wouldn't open from outside.

cleaned up both door latches, sandblasted, varsolled, painted and lithium greased, now they work great! (replaced a couple springs in the process, and got parts off a donor of my father in laws)

also got headlights working, Carb is currently torn down for rebuild. Also rebuilt Brake master and bled, now I have brakes!

You can really see what soaking in a pail of carb cleaner for a week does to carbon deposits!

new video up! tach hooked up!

Needs to be timed, sputters pretty bad at anything above 3200rpm.

My uncle said the same thing... 8* should do it. Will do soon, also going to re-check gap on points. (set to .016" I believe)

Point gap should be .019 new / .016 used. be very careful if you try to bump the timing any more than 8* as they do not like to get too much advance, by the way your old truck engine redlines at 3800 RPM.
