4.0 is in. Wires are hooked up. Engine will turn over. Not getting any fuel.

Checked relays, can run external power to fuel pump and get it to go.

What am I missing?

What year 4.0 harness are you using??

My 4.0 harness was from a 90 ranger and it was plug an play(no repinning or anything)

Check your inertia switch (passenger side bottom of dash on the firewall, under the carpet)

there is suppose to be a ground wiring going from the engine to the wiper motor, on my v8 swap my wipers would work tell i ran that wire

and will the engine run with the fuel pump jumped?
if so then its the wiring for the relay, inertia switch, or wiring between pump>intertia switch>relay>12v source or the ecm isn"t turning the relay on

It'll start but we never tried to keep it runnin. That makes sense about the inertia switch>pump> relay stuff. We checked to see if it was tripped but not if it was hooked up. Will check tonight.

when I did ny body lift the ground from the wiper motor was too short to hook back up. Truck would not start until I lengthened it.

A buddy did the wiring part, It looks like the old computer and its wiring harness is partly there, along w the inertia switch. The 94 harness does not go into a inertia switch from what I can tell. I'm looking at the wiring diagram from the Haynes manual. I'm thinking bout jumping the dkgrn/yel that goes to the inertia switch to the pnk/blk that goes to the fuel pump.

Will that work?

Does the pink and black wire actually connect to the wire going to the fuel pump underneath I had to make an adapter plug there. On an 86 its the heavy wire by itself with a strange flat plug in.It comes up by the master cylinder.

The other thing I don't know what kind of dimmer switch a 90 B2 has but my 86 had the old one that clicked and didn't have a position. When I did my motor swap I wanted to keep it and my fuel pump wouldn't work. You have to have the same style turn signal that fits the wire harness if you use the harness to power the fuel pump.In my case that meant changing the whole steering column.I was told that it's because if your in an accident and the fuel pump is shocked and turned off the flashers turn on automatically. You say your wipers don't work thats another indicator that it's steering column problems.

Got it going. Its runnin. Yay!!!!!!!!!!

Turned out I was missing the part of the harness that plugged into the inertia switch, that plgged into the rest of the harness. Anyways got it figured out.

Still have to figure the wipers out and the blower motor for the fan. I have two female plugs for it, just gotta figure the wires out.

I'm just workin out the little bugs now. I need an accelerator cable for the 4.0, I didn't pull the one from the ranger and have gotten rid of it. I also broke the shift cable for the tranny. My elec 4wd isn't workin either. I'll probably just go ahead and put my manual t case in. I've already put doors w manual windows on.

So its runnin, I'm almost done, I'm happy for a little bit. Thanks for the help guys!

Got the wipers fixed, it was a vacuum leak. They work fine.

Gettin ready to take it off the jackstands and I look under the truck and the cats are glowing bright orange.
