so my ignition is pretty messed up and i need to fix it what should i do? its the part where you put the key in not the actual ignition itself

Meaning, the ignition lock? If it's the old-fashioned style (no remote), you can buy those from the auto parts store for under $20. If desired, you can get it rekeyed to match your door keys, at a locksmith.

They do wear out, especially if one suspends a heavy keychain from them for many years.
